From this fiscal year, Japan Tourism Agency (JTA) started “Consumer Research of Foreign Visitors to Japan” to understand the consumer's trend and their satisfaction level. This research is to be conducted by quarter, and the annual data will be prepared after the forth quarter. Recently, JTA released the results for the April-June quarter of 2010. In the research, travel cost was summed up by nationality and was divided into pre-tour expenditure, such as the cost for package tours and round trip fares to Japan, and the amount spent during the trip. Moreover, the research also showed the actual consumption in each form of travel, including expenditures and buying trend by items.
