Major travel agents’ overseas travel revenue up 53.2% for June, showing recovery of student group tours and corporate travel demand
Japan Tourism Agency announced that the total travel revenue of major travel agents for the month of June was JPY 488 billion, up 18.3% from the previous year. Total revenue, revenues of overseas, domestic and inbound travel exceeded the previous year. In particular, revenue of overseas travel was JPY 188 billion, up 53.2%, and its monthly growth was the highest in the last four months during which positive growth had been witnessed without a break. There was a contribution of strong performance in student group travel and recovery of corporate travel demand.
